The position
The Project Cost Controller is responsible for overseeing and managing the financial aspects of projects within AEG PS. This role involves monitoring, analyzing, and controlling project costs, hours, sales, and cash flow to ensure projects are completed within budget and financial targets are achieved.
Main responsibilities
Financial Tracking and Analysis:
- Monitor and track project costs, hours, and sales to ensure they remain within budget and revenue targets.
- Establish process and tolling for the project controlling
- Investigate and explain discrepancies in cost, labor hours, and sales by analyzing variances.
- Execute cost control strategies and identify opportunities for savings while highlighting potential financial risks.
Cash Flow and Budget Management:
- Monitor project cash flow, ensure positive cash flow on projects with the support of the PM.
- Review project budget regularly, monthly or quarterly, with the project team and update the forecast if necessary
- Assist in the development, monitoring, and adherence to project budgets.
Reporting and Forecasting:
- Prepare and present regular financial reports on project performance.
- Provide financial analysis, recommendations to project managers, and assist in financial forecasting and projections.
Additional responsibilities:
- Train the PM team on Project finance
- Simulate and anticipate fluctuation of raw material or labor cost on projects
Stakeholder Communication and Compliance:
- Collaborate with project managers, finance team, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project financials and effective communication.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and accounting standards, and maintain accurate project financial records and documentation.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
- Proven experience of at least 5 years as Project Cost Controller
- Knowledge of project management principles and practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and financial software.
- Strong knowledge of EPR software: SAP R3 and SAP S4
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willing to travel to our factories located in Germany, Spain, Singapore, and China.
- Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
